Announcing The 2020 TAI Apprenticeship Program Teams
Traditional Arts Indiana is pleased to announce the 2020 TAI Apprenticeship Program teams. Since September 2019, these artists have been teaching traditional artistic knowledge to their family and community members in order to continue these practices into the next generation. With support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Indiana Arts Commission, the TAI Apprenticeship Program is designed to help folk and traditional artists facilitate instruction in a one-on-one teaching environment with their apprentices. Additionally, TAI documents the progression of their apprenticeship through interviewing, video recording, and photographic documentation to further promote and preserve these traditional artforms. The 2020 Apprenticeship Program cohort will demonstrate their work together at the Indiana Heritage Fellowship celebration in 2021.
