Amelia Culpher raised her niece, Andrea Faust, in a house filled with sewing and creativity. An experienced seamstress, Amelia excelled in sewing arts after learning textile construction and mending from a neighbor in Fort Wayne. After decades of sewing, developing technical skills and an eye for design, quilting became her primary creative practice in retirement. After 15 years making quilts, Amelia is teaching Andrea sewing techniques and quilting aesthetics.
Andrea combines her love of crochet with the precision of piecing and quilting to create new and innovative designs. Amelia planned that by the end of their apprenticeship, “Andrea will be able to create a world of things from the basics: squares, triangles, rectangles, and appliqué. The sky will be the limit.”
